MICRODERMABRASION

Restore your skin with microdermabrasion . Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical way to repair and restore your skin to its youthful appearance.   This FDA approved treatment is a progressive method of   refining the texture of your skin while tightening the layers below the surface. This procedure is good for the following: maintaining healthy skin, age spots, acne scarring, sun damage, uneven skin tone, hyper-pigmentation, improving skin texture, treating large pores, fine lines and wrinkles as well as scar resurfacing.

Microdermabrasion works by bombarding the skin with a stream of multi-faceted crystals used to exfoliate and soften the outer layer of the skin.   The skin responds to this treatment by producing fresh cells, rejuvenating the skin and restoring it to a more youthful appearance.

After your treatment we recommend a moisturizer with a sunscreen. Usually a series of treatments, 4-8 gives the best results. Treatments are usually scheduled 7-14 days   apart to allow for maximum rejuvenation.

Call today for your personal   microdermabrasion   cosmetics consult and treatment.

BOTOX®

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox ®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck caused by the action of the underlying muscles. Botox ® blocks the nerve impulses to these muscles temporarily paralyzing them giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Botox® ,is also effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes. BOTOX ®   typically lasts from two to six months with an average around four months.

Wrinkle treatments with Restylane ®, Juvederm ™ ,

Young skin is smooth and elastic. As we age our skin loses its support due to aging, gravity, sun damage, and loss of volume causing fine lines, creases and wrinkles.

Fortunately, we have several different treatments available to address these problems. Restylane ® and   Juvederm ™ are two products that fill in these wrinkles with a natural substance in our body called hyaluronic acid. This substance is lost as we age contributing to facial wrinkles and creases.   Restylane ® has been used since 1996 and is an excellent method to soften creases and wrinkles around the mouth. Restylane ® is also a great way to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the lip and give a fuller lip. The result typically will last up to six months.   This treatment is performed in the office generally taking approximately fifteen minutes.

Juvederm ™   is the newest hyaluronic acid based product that has been available since January 2007. This product has a   cost similar to Restylane ® and it is reported to last as long and maybe slightly longer than Restylane ®. This treatment is performed in the office generally taking approximately fifteen minutes.

Call today to schedule your personal   Restylane ® or   Juvederm ™ cosmetics consult and treatment .

COLLAGEN AND FREE FAT

Collagen and free fat injections are two other methods of filling in unwanted wrinkles.   Collagen is typically bovine derived (from another animal) collagen and usually requires an allergy test. This method of wrinkle correction typically lasts three to four months   but for some it provides the enhancement they desire while being more economical than Restylane ® and Juvederm ™.   Free fat injections involve taking a small amount of excess fat from one place on your body and using these cells to correct wrinkles or add volume to the face.   Once the free fat cells are implanted the results can be permanent but often 50% of the result remains at one year.

Call today to schedule your personal   Collagen or Free Fat transfer cosmetic consult and treatment.

LASER AND IPL

Lasers and Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy use light energy to remove unwanted blemishes, treat sun damaged skin, flatten thickened red scars, remove unwanted hair, leg and facial veins or to   restore your skin to more youthful rejuvenated appearance. At Ocean Plastic Surgery, P.A. we offer this light based technology to meet your personal needs. These procedures usually only take   minutes to a half and hour to perform. The best results are usually obtained with a series of treatments.

Call today to schedule your personal   Laser or IPL cosmetic consult and treatment.

LASER SKIN RESURFACING

Laser skin resurfacing uses special lasers to rejuvenate the outer layers of the skin. These treatments are used to treat patients with advanced sun damaged skin, blemishes   and wrinkles that can not be treated as well with IPL or chemical peels.   Lasers either a CO2 or Erybium remove the outer layers of the skin in a controlled manner. The depth is determined by the surgeon.   This procedure will leave your skin texture smooth and soft while tightening loose skin giving you a rejuvenated more youthful appearance.

Laser resurfacing is usually done as a same day procedure either in a hospital or surgical center. The procedure takes approximately an hour. You will need two to three weeks to recover. During that time you will have swelling, crusting and redness which will improve over the ensuing weeks. The redness may take several months resolve.

Call today to schedule your personal   Laser Resurfacing cosmetic consult.

CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of your facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Chemical peels help with facial blemishes, wrinkles, uneven skin pigmentation, and acne scarring. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids ( AHAs ) are two of the most common peels used for this purpose. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet your personal needs and goals.   A chemical peel can often be performed at the time of another facial enhancement procedure giving you a better result than either

Chemical peels are most commonly performed for cosmetic reasons   to enhance your appearance and your self confidence. Chemical peel may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne.

Alphahydroxy acids ( AHAs ) are   derived from fruits and contain fruit acids which are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can't spare the time to recover from a TCA peel. AHA peels may be used to treat fine wrinkling, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Various concentrations of an AHA may be applied weekly or at longer intervals to obtain the best result. Your doctor will make this decision during your consultation and as the treatment proceeds. An alphahydroxy acid, such as glycolic acid, can also be mixed with a facial wash or cream in lesser concentrations as part of a daily skin-care regimen to improve the skin's texture.

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) can be used in many concentrations, but it is most commonly used for medium-depth peeling. Fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes and pigment problems are commonly treated with TCA. More than one TCA peel may be needed to achieve the desired result. A TCA peel typically takes thirty minutes to an hour to complete with a recovery time of approximately two to three weeks.

AHA peels may cause stinging, redness, irritation and crusting. However, as the skin adjusts to the treatment regimen, these problems will subside. After a TCA peel, your healed skin will be able to produce pigment as always and the peel will not bleach the skin. However, TCA-peel patients are advised to avoid sun exposure for several months after treatment to protect the newly formed layers of skin.

Call today for your personal Alpha hydroxyl or TCA peel cosmetics consult.

SPIDER VEINS

Superficial veins can develop on the upper legs as well as the calves and ankles. They are caused by many factors such a your occupation or activity, weight, hormone changes and genetic predisposition. Spider veins can be treated with sclerotherapy or laser treatments. The most common and standard therapy is the sclerotherapy technique in which a salt solution is injected into the vein with an ultrafine needle to make it collapse and disappear.

Sclerotherapy is an office procedure usually taking between twenty to thirty minutes to complete.   Usually it takes several treatments to obtain the best results.

Call today for your personal cosmetics sclerotherapy consult and spider vein treatment.
