BROW LIFT

            Brow lift is performed to elevate the brow and correct wrinkles in the forehead and between the eyebrows that develop as we get older. Patients with a   droopy brow, called brow ptosis ,   have the   appearance of being   tired, angry or look like they have a scowl on their face. EYELID LIFT

             Baggy upper eyelids and puffy lower eyelids develop as a normal result of the aging process, starting in our early thirties. The result is a less awake, tired look and   for a very few people it can actually cause a problem with their vision. LIP AUGMENTATION

            Beautiful full upper lips can be created for those seeking enhancement or to correct wrinkles that develop along the lip with as we get older.   The most useful techniques use the dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm . These products can create full upper or lower lips which can be adjusted incrementally, in the office, to a larger size depending on your desire. Also, these products can be used to restore the fullness to the upper lip removing unwanted wrinkles along the upper lip. In addition, you can combine these with dilute Botox to the upper lip to soften the upper lip wrinkles further. Restylane and Juvederm last approximately six months benefiting those want to adjust their augmentation. 
            Other methods to augment the lips involves free fat transfer or using an graft.   Free fat transfer offers the potential of a longer lasting or permanent result but involve another procedure to remove fat from another area of the body which is more costly than dermal fillers. A more permanent solution is a graft of dermal tissue called Alloderm which is placed through small incisions at the corner of the mouth.

RHINOPLASTY

           Nose shaping or rhinoplasty is used to enhance the nose by making the nose smaller, larger, correcting a hump or defect and refining the tip. Also, this procedure is often combined with procedures to make breathing better such as correcting a deviated septum.

           The procedure is usually performed through small incisions along the undersurface of the nose leaving a barely noticeable scar if at all. Usually the procedure is performed at a surgical center or hospital under general anesthesia lasting approximately two to two and a half hours. When you go home that day you will have a splint on your nose and inside your nose if work was done on your septum. These splints are removed at your first postoperative visit the following week. It is common to have swelling of the nose and bruising around your nose and eyes for the first week or two.

NECK LIFT and NECK LIPOSUCTION

           Neck lifts are performed when excess skin is present under the chin while neck liposuction is indicated when there is excess fatty tissue without excess skin. Both procedures restore the neck and jaw line to a more youthful appearance and are often used together to give you the best results.

            Neck lifts are performed on an outpatient setting with general anesthesia and involve removing excess skin by an incision either below the chin or behind the ear. Often with this procedure, muscle under the skin along the neck is tightened like a corset to help define the jaw line.   This procedure typically takes approximately two hours with recovery taking ten to fourteen days. Neck liposuction is performed on an outpatient setting with iv sedation. This procedure takes approximately thirty to forty minutes. Bruising and swelling is common after the procedure with some persistent swelling taking several months to go away.  

            After both procedures a chin strap is worn continuously for the first several days and then at night for two to three weeks.

CHIN AUGMENTATION

            Chin augmentation is done for those with a weak chin. This is usually evident on looking at someone's profile from the side.   Chin augmentation is usually performed with a chin implant. A chin implant can give a stronger jawline and better balance to the face by bringing the   chin , face and nose into better proportion with one another.

            The procedure is performed under general anesthesia as a same day procedure in a surgical center or hospital.   The implant is placed through a small incision inside the mouth or just under the chin.   The procedure takes approximately one hour and the recovery time is about one week.

OTOPLASTY

            Ear surgery or otoplasty is done to correct protruding ears. This procedure is usually scheduled during the preschool years at about the age of five. The procedure is done at this time since the ear is almost fully developed at this age and it prevents unwanted attention from other children and helps with self esteem by having the problem corrected before entering school. This procedure can also be performed in adults who didn't have the benefit of this surgery as a child.

The procedure is done as an outpatient procedure either in a same day sugery center or hospital under general anesthesia. The procedure takes approximately two and a half to three hours and involves an incision behind the ear. The ears are brought into the right position by removing, scoring and suturing the ear cartilage.   Protective ear cups may need to be worn after the procedure with the child returning to full activity over the next several weeks.
