The V-beam is a great laser that we have to treat red spots (such as rosacea) and other conditions such as scars (from injuries, acne and procedures), bruising, Warts, Psoriasis, Congenital birthmarks such as hemangiomas and Port Wine Stains. The V-beam is an office procedure which is essentially painless due to delayed contact cooling with a cryogen spray that gently cools and protects the skin duriing treatments. Treatment time is dependent on the area which can be as little as a minute for small lesions up to 30 minutes for larger conditions.
The V-beam works by directing a wavelength of light specific for the hemoglobin in blood and thereby collapsing the blood vessels. Often a series of treatments are necessary for best results. The goals of V-beam treatment varies with the condition being treated. An ideal response for scar treatment is a flatter white scar.
