Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment
The Avéli™ device is used to eliminate cellulite, allowing patients to have smoother skin with just a minimally invasive procedure. Transformative results with Avéli™ in Ocean County, NJ, can be found at Ocean Plastic Surgery P.A. and Laser Center, directed by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Stephen Small.
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite presents as one or more depressions on the skin’s surface, typically on the buttocks or thighs. They may look like dimples or lumps, with defined edges but appearing in any shape or size.
Cellulite is caused by the fibrous bands that tether your skin to the structures below. These bands are called septa. Some septa are good (and you want them as connective tethers), but others stiffen or shrink over time. Fat tissue can get trapped between the bad septa, leading to those bumps and dips on the surface.
How Does Avéli™ Treatmennt Work?
The Avéli™ device contains a hook with a retractable blade, which is used to strategically cut the septa from below the skin’s surface. We are able to release only the unnecessary bands to alleviate the cellulite, while at the same time leaving the good septa unaffected.
Is Avéli™ Treatment Right for Me?
If you’re looking for a long-term reduction in cellulite dimples from a single in-office procedure, Avéli™ could be for you! Please note, however, that it is only designed for the treatment of cellulite itself, not to address issues of skin laxity (wrinkles, lines, or loose skin) or localized pockets of fat.
What Happens During an Avéli™ Session?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia by one of our trained providers using the following steps:
- Very tiny incisions are made in secluded locations.
- Next, the handheld Avéli™ device will be used to manually target and release the complicated web of septa bands causing cellulite dimples. To confirm the location of each septa before cutting it, the device also features a tiny light.
- The release of each targeted septa can be confirmed in real-time with the hook.
After Your Avéli™ Appointment
You should be able to drive home right away and can resume your daily schedule 24-48 hours after your Avéli™ session. Patients might notice mild pain within the first 24 hours of recovery and tenderness to the touch resolving within 30 days. Results are usually seen about one month after treatment and are meant to last indefinitely.
How Much Does an Avéli™ Treatment Cost?
The cost of your Avéli™ procedure depends on the severity of your cellulite. The number of areas on the body that we decide to treat can also affect the price.
