Y-Fill™ Procedure Overview

Scope:	Micro liposuction is used to extract fat from donor regions and inject it into areas around the lips, eyes, and cheeks for a more youthful, refreshed appearance.
Anesthesia:	Local anesthesia with or without sedation is usually chosen. General anesthesia may be used if facial fat transfer is combined with other procedures, like a facelift or neck lift.
Treatment Time:	Treatment can take an hour or two to complete.
Recovery:	Most patients can resume normal activities within 3-5 days.

What is Youth-Fill™ or Y-Fill™?

Your adipocytes (fat) are used to give a natural fill to smooth sunken contours around the eyes, cheeks and lips. The adipocytes are obtained with a micro liposuction cannula from another area of your body. The amount removed typically doesn’t leave a contour change like regular liposuction. When used to treat the facial Y-zone we call this process Y-Filling. In addition to softening folds, wrinkles and lines are treated with Y-Fill™ or laser to give you an even more rejuvenated look.

Nanogenesis With Nanofat

Nanogenesis™ is the result of using NanoFat to stimulate skin regeneration. Adipocytes (fat) have many regenerative qualities, and the benefits are not limited to just stem cells. It has been discovered that all the unique cells (stem cells, blood vessel cells, skin structure cells- mesenchymal and lymphatic cells, to name a few) along with the matrix (the scaffold that supports these cells) can be obtained with micro liposuction. Micro liposuction involves removing a small amount of fat from another area of the body while not typically creating a contour change. From this tissue, simple mechanical processing gives us the complex mixture of cells and support matrix that we call NanoFat.

What Does NanoFat Do?

The regenerative aspects of NanoFat have been demonstrated to reverse signs of sun damage and skin aging. These trophic changes are the thinning of the skin and pigment or coloring changes, which are concerns that show signs of improvement with NanoFat.

Additionally, scars have been shown to be more pliable (softer) with NanoFat. NanoFat has become an important component of our facial rejuvenation strategy at Ocean Plastic Surgery. When we use NanoFat with other rejuvenating treatments, given its regenerative potential, we call this Nanogenesis™.

Recovery After Y-Fill™

Is Y-Fill™ Painful?

During the treatment process, you will rest peacefully under anesthesia or sedation and will not feel discomfort or anxiety. After Y-Fill™, you will have pain medications to help keep you at ease as you heal. Get plenty of rest, and stay properly hydrated.

Can I Have Other Treatments With Y-Fill™?

Yes. Y-Fill™ can address many signs of aging in the Y-zone, but often, there are other concerns you might see. For example, if you have an uneven complexion due to rough skin texture, fine lines, or scars, then a laser or Morpheus8 treatment might be recommended to even your complexion. If you have sagging cheek and neck skin, then a lift along with the Y-Fill™ will add to your overall complete rejuvenation. Additionally, the adipocytes can be removed to create Nanofat. Nanofat is the substance of micro liposuction that contains the matrix and cells for skin regeneration. This Nanofat can then be combined with many cosmetic treatments to enhance results. Specifically, nanofat improves thinning skin, pigmentary changes of the skin, and scars.

How Many Appointments Will I Need?
